Set up your workspace, invite your team and find your way around Do.
Do is one live workspace for your whole company: tasks, a shared whiteboard, voice calls with screen sharing, files, a weekly rota and who's around right now, all at your own address, such as yourcompany.businlog.com. Changes appear for everyone who can see them the moment they happen, so nobody has to refresh the page or ask which version is the latest.
Choose Start free trial and fill in your company name, the workspace address you'd like, your name, your work email and a password of at least 8 characters, then pick monthly or yearly billing. If you have an offer code, add it on the same form. We may ask you to confirm your email with a 6-digit code, which lasts 15 minutes; you can ask for a new one or start again with a different email. Your workspace is then set up for you, and a progress screen shows each step as it happens.
3 to 30 characters: lowercase letters, numbers and single hyphens, starting and ending with a letter or a number, for example acme or acme-care. A few words are reserved. The sign-up form checks the address as you type, so you know straight away whether it's free. Your team signs in at that address, and it has its own security certificate.
Sign in with the email and password you chose when you signed up: you're the workspace's first admin. You can open the workspace from your account page at businlog.com, or type your address under Sign in to your workspace on the businlog.com sign-in page to jump straight to it.
Open the Team menu and fill in Add someone to the board: their name, an email if you have one, member or admin, and what they can see. Each person gets a personal join link that signs them straight in, so there's nothing for them to remember. You can copy a ready-made invite message to paste into WhatsApp or an email, or tick the box to email them their sign-in details once your workspace's email is connected.
A new workspace doesn't send email until an admin connects it. Until then, welcome emails, Forgot password? codes, guest-link sign-ups, team mail and expiry emails won't work, but join links, passcodes, passwords and passkeys all work as normal. To connect it, an admin opens Mail in the workspace, pastes an API key from your own Resend account (resend.com) and chooses a From address on a domain you've verified in Resend. The key stays on the server, and only a short hint of it is shown again.
Do runs in your web browser, so there's nothing to download from an app store, and there are no separate iPhone or Android apps. You can install it from your browser or add it to your phone's home screen, and it then opens in its own window like an app. On iPhone, open Do, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and open it from there.
Companies, projects and departments, roles, guest links, and who can see what.
Into companies, projects and departments. A company can sit inside another company, which helps if you run a group of businesses. Projects live inside a company, and departments live inside a project. Each project has its own task list, whiteboard, files and call, and each department can have its own too. The sidebar shows the whole tree, with a count of open tasks next to each project and department, and Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on a Mac) jumps to search.
Admins look after the team: they add and remove people, set passcodes, choose who sees what, run the rota, see reports and connect email. Only admins can add, rename or delete companies, and only admins can delete a project or department. Members get on with the work in the places they can see: unless they're read-only, they can add, change and delete tasks and whiteboard items there, and they can delete files they added themselves. Members who can edit a company can add and rename the projects and departments inside it. A workspace always keeps at least one admin.
Yes. When you add someone, or later from the Team admin page, choose all access or limited access and pick the companies, projects or departments they need. Access to a company covers everything inside it. Access to a single department covers that department's tasks, board, files and call, and nothing else in the project. You can also make someone read only, so they can look but can't change tasks, boards or drawings.
A way to let people from outside, such as a client or a freelancer, join without adding them one by one. An admin picks the places the link opens, view-only or edit access, and an optional expiry of 1 to 365 days. Whoever opens it enters their name and email, and their sign-in details are emailed to them, never shown on screen. Admins get a notification each time someone joins. Guest links need your workspace's email to be connected.
No. People who join through a guest link are free. Everyone else in the workspace counts as a user, including admins and anyone you add yourself, even if they only have limited or read-only access.
It stops working for anyone new, and so does a link once its expiry date passes: whoever opens it is told it has expired or been switched off. People who already joined through it keep their access until you remove them on the Team admin page.
On the Team admin page, remove the person. They're signed out at once on every device, and any live connection they had open, such as a call or a board, is closed. You can't remove yourself or the last admin.
Join links, passcodes, passwords, passkeys and email codes, and keeping sign-in safe.
There are five: a personal join link that signs you straight in; your email and passcode; your email and password, typed into the same box as a passcode; a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint or Windows Hello) once you've signed in once; and a one-time code sent to your email, which works once your workspace's email is connected.
Everyone gets a random 6-digit passcode, which you use with your email address, so your profile needs an email first (an admin can add it). To see yours, sign in and open your profile menu from your avatar in the top bar: it's under Sign in. An admin can set a different passcode of 4 to 6 digits or make a new random one. When they do, the old one stops working, but anyone already signed in stays signed in. Keep it private, like a PIN.
On your workspace's sign-in page, choose Forgot password? and enter your email. If it has an account there, Do emails you a 6-digit code that works once and expires in 10 minutes. Type it in and you're signed in. Your password doesn't change, so if you'd like a new one, set it from your profile menu afterwards. This needs your workspace's email to be connected; if it isn't, ask an admin for your passcode or a fresh join link.
Yes, if your profile has an email. Open your profile menu, choose Set a password (optional) and enter at least 8 characters. From then on you can sign in with your email and either your password or your passcode. Passwords are stored as PBKDF2-SHA256 hashes, never as plain text.
Sign in once in the usual way, then save a passkey when Do offers it, or from your profile menu under Sign in. Next time, tap Sign in with Face ID (or Touch ID, fingerprint or Windows Hello) on the sign-in page. Your device checks it's really you every time, and the passkey only works on your own workspace's address. You can remove a saved passkey from the same menu.
Open your profile menu and look at Your devices. It lists every device you're signed in on, with the browser, an approximate location, how you signed in and when it was last used, and you can sign any of them out from there. An admin can do the same for anyone in the team, and resetting someone's join link signs them out everywhere.
To stop people guessing, five wrong attempts for one email, or from one network, within 15 minutes pauses sign-in for 15 minutes. Wait, then try again with the right details, or use your join link or a passkey instead. If your join link says it no longer works, an admin has reset it, so ask them for a fresh one.
No. Do doesn't offer two-factor codes, or single sign-on with Google, Microsoft or SAML. What it does have is passkeys that check it's really you on your own device, sign-in lockouts after repeated wrong tries, a list of signed-in devices you can sign out remotely, and access you can limit by company, project or department. Our Security page has the full picture.
Live task lists, owners and due dates, and a shared whiteboard for every project.
Each project has one live task list, and tasks can sit inside a department. A task can have up to 20 owners, a due date, notes, up to 100 sub-tasks with notes of their own, and up to 30 attachments. Everyone who can see the list sees new tasks and ticks the moment they happen, and Do keeps track of who created each task and who ticked it off, and when.
Yes. Paste a screenshot straight into a task, or drag files onto it. Images and files open in a preview, so you can have a look without downloading them.
Switch the list from All to Mine. The list also shows how many tasks are overdue and how many are due today, so you can see what needs doing first.
Everyone who can see it gets a notification in the bell, and the people it's assigned to are told as well. If Do isn't on their screen and they've turned on notifications, it arrives as a push notification on their phone or computer.
Yes, if you're quick: choose Undo in the message that appears after you delete a task, a sub-task or an attachment.
Each project has a shared whiteboard, and each department can have one too. There are 13 tools: select, pan, pen, highlighter, eraser, text, sticky note, to-do list, to-do table, rectangle, ellipse, arrow and line. You see your teammates' cursors and drawing as it happens. Undo and redo go back up to 300 steps, and Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V and Ctrl+D (Cmd on a Mac) copy, paste and duplicate.
You can download the whole board as a PNG image to put in a document or an email. If your connection drops while you're working on the board, your changes are queued and sent as soon as you're back online. Only admins can clear a whole board, so nobody wipes the team's work by accident.
Voice calls and screen sharing in every project, ringing teammates and call alerts.
Voice, with screen sharing. There's no camera video. Each project has its own call, and so can each department, so you join the room that matches the work. Calls aren't recorded: Do has no call recording.
No. Calls run in your web browser over WebRTC. The first time, your browser asks to use your microphone; allow it and you're in. Screen sharing works from desktop browsers. If your network blocks direct connections, Do sends the call through a relay instead.
Click their avatar, for example in the row at the top of a project, to ring them. They get Accept and Decline on every tab they have open. If Do isn't on their screen and they've turned on call alerts, their phone or computer rings with a push notification, repeated a few times. They can answer with a quick reply such as On another call or Wait 5 mins, if they're on a break Do tells you so, and if they miss it they get a missed-call notification with a link back to the call.
Turn on call alerts: open your profile menu, find Calls, choose Turn on and allow notifications when your browser asks. On iPhone, add Do to your Home Screen first (Share, then Add to Home Screen), open it from there, then turn alerts on. You can also choose a soft ring, a normal ring or silent, and on phones whether it vibrates.
It's for when you're speaking to a client on another line but want your team on hand. Your mic and the team's sound are switched off, so the client hears nothing from the team call. Hold the talk button, or Shift+Space, to ask the team something: your mic and speaker come on only while you hold it.
Open the call's health check: it shows whether your mic is picking you up, whether sound is arriving from each person and how good your connection is, and it can run a speed test. Background noise is removed on your own device by AI noise removal, which is on by default and can be switched off with a tap. Shift+Space mutes and unmutes you.
Anyone can raise their hand to speak. Admins can also mute one person, mute everyone or remove someone from the call. Taking a break takes you out of any call you're in, so nobody is left on the line by mistake.
Folders, previews, personal documents, expiry reminders and team email.
Every company, project and department has its own files, with folders you can give a colour and an icon. You can also write rich-text docs and coloured notes right inside Do. Search finds files by name and by text.
PDFs, Word documents (.docx), spreadsheets (.xlsx, .xls and .csv) and text files open in your browser, and Word documents can be edited there and saved back to Do. Each file can be up to 50 MB.
The person who added it, or an admin. Anyone who can edit can copy a file (not a whole folder) to another space they can see. Files are only shown to people who can see the space they're in, or to the person whose personal folder holds them.
Open a file's menu, choose Set expiry date and enter the date, for example when a certificate, an insurance policy or a right-to-work document runs out. Do then reminds the admins, whoever added the file and the person whose personal folder it's in: 30 days before, 7 days before and on the day. Reminders arrive in the bell and by push, and also by email at 30 days and on the day once your workspace's email is connected.
An admin can make a folder someone's own, for example for their contract or training certificates. That person can upload to it and view it from My documents in the sidebar, and admins are told when something new arrives. Admins can also ask one person, or everyone with an unfinished joining checklist, for missing documents, and the request arrives in their bell and by push.
Yes, once an admin has connected Resend on the Mail page. Admins can write formatted emails with CC and attachments up to 20 MB in total, including files already in Do, and a sent log shows whether each one was delivered. There's a ready-made template for asking new starters for their joining documents.
There isn't a download-all or a full export. You can download files one at a time, save a whiteboard as a PNG image and download reports as CSV. If you'd like your workspace and its data deleted, email hello@businlog.com.
The weekly rota, breaks, who's around, the world clock, checklists and reports.
Each company or project can have a weekly rota with 1 to 12 shift types, each with a name, start and end times and a colour, such as Early, Late and Night. Admins put people on days, move them or take them off, and can copy last week to save time. Hours are worked out for each shift, overnight ones included, and everyone else can see the rota.
You get a notification when you're put on a new shift, and My shifts lists everything you're on for the next 14 days. Admins also have an On shift now view showing who the rota says should be working.
Open your profile menu and start a break: tea, lunch, prayer or personal. Your teammates can see you're on a break, and you can see today's total. Every 15 minutes Do gives you a gentle “come back?” nudge. Starting a break takes you out of any call, and anyone who rings you is told you're on a break.
On a wide screen, the Team now panel beside the task list shows who's online, whether they're on a phone or a computer, who's in a call, who's on a break and who's free, and when people were last seen. The avatars at the top of a project show who has it open right now.
The clock in the sidebar shows UK time to start with. Click it to show up to three places at once, chosen from a list of 39, from Ireland and Poland to India, the Philippines and the United States, so you can see whether it's a sensible time to ring a colleague abroad. Your choice is remembered on each device. To go back to UK time only, choose Back to UK only.
Admins can set up a daily checklist for each project, with items for certain departments only, an optional shift report step and figures for departments to fill in. People tick through it for today or yesterday, and the admins who are online are told when it's submitted. Admins can see the whole team's progress for any day.
For any project and a date range of up to about 3 months: checklist completion, shift-report figures, tasks finished (by whom and when), tasks created, open and overdue tasks, and breaks per person per day. You can download a report as CSV to open in a spreadsheet.
Prices, the free trial, who counts as a user, and managing or cancelling your plan.
£10 per user per month, or £96 per user per year if you pay yearly, which works out at £8 a month (20% off). There's one plan with every feature, so nothing is locked away behind a higher tier. Prices are in pounds sterling.
Every new workspace starts with a 30-day free trial with every feature. You won't be charged during the trial, and if you cancel before it ends you pay nothing. Your account page at businlog.com shows how many days of the trial are left.
It depends on whether online card payments are switched on, and the sign-up page always tells you which. If a card is asked for, you enter it on Stripe's own secure checkout page, so your card details go straight to Stripe and we never see your full card number. Nothing is charged during the trial, and your account page shows whether a card is saved and, if so, the date of the first charge.
If a card is saved, your subscription starts and you're charged for the users in your workspace. If not, the workspace pauses: your team can't open it, but nothing is deleted, and your account page shows how to reopen it.
Everyone in your workspace except people who joined through a guest link, so admins and people with limited or read-only access count too. We recount users every hour and whenever you open your account page. On the monthly plan, changes are prorated on your next invoice; on the yearly plan, the prorated difference is invoiced straight away.
On your account page, choose Manage billing, invoices and card. From there you can switch between monthly and yearly (the change is prorated), update your card, download invoices and change your billing email, address or tax ID. If a payment fails, the workspace stays open and your account page asks you to update your card.
Choose Manage billing, invoices and card on your account page and cancel there. A paid plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and then your workspace is paused. We don't give refunds for part-used periods, except where the law requires it. If you don't see that button, or you'd like your workspace and its data deleted, email hello@businlog.com.
On the businlog.com sign-in page, choose Account owner, then Forgot password? and enter the email on your account. We email you a 6-digit code that lasts 15 minutes: enter it with a new password of at least 8 characters and you're signed in, and any other device signed in to your account is signed out. This changes your businlog.com password only, not your password inside the workspace. If the email doesn't arrive, write to hello@businlog.com and we'll help. Your team can still get into the workspace with Forgot password? on its own sign-in page (once its email is connected), a passkey or a join link.
Finding AI practitioners and small agencies, and listing yourself for free.
A free, public list of AI practitioners and small agencies, across 18 skill areas in four groups: Build, Data & ML, Business and Creative. Anyone can browse it, and you don't need a Do workspace to be listed. Clients and practitioners deal with each other directly, and we take no commission on any work agreed.
Fill in the form on the List yourself page: who you are, what you do, up to 8 skills and 12 tools, and where people can see your work. It's free, and there's no account to create. Every listing is reviewed by a person before it goes live.
When you submit, we show you a private manage link once. Save it somewhere safe: there are no accounts and we don't email it, so it's your way in. From it you can edit your listing, confirm you're still active or delete it. If you lose it, contact us from the email address on your listing.
The Directory shows people who are active. After 30 days without an update or an I'm still active check-in, a listing drops off the default view, and after 180 days it's hidden from the site. Open your manage link and confirm you're still active to bring it back.
Top ranked adds up things we can check: whether a listing is Verified or Featured by our team, how recently its owner was active, how complete it is and whether they're taking work. You can also sort by recently active, newest or A–Z, and filter by skill, group, availability and remote work.
No. Email addresses are never shown on the site; only our admins can see them. Your listing shows the links you choose to add, such as your website.
It means our team has checked who you are and that the work you link to is yours. It isn't an endorsement or a guarantee of quality. If a verified person changes their name, the mark comes off until we've checked again.
